Hand Portable and Vehicle Systems Extinguisher Training

Portable fire extinguisher training and Levitt-Safety have gone hand in hand for decades in Canada and today it is just as critical that personal who are expected to respond to workplace fires have the knowledge and experience to respond to the fire emergency in confidence.  Levitt Training & Consulting is able to provide complete classroom instruction on types of fires encountered in the workplace, extinguishing agents, extinguisher inspection and maintenance guidelines in accordance with the local Authority Having Jurisdiction and NFPA standards.  Our instructors then take this classroom knowledge to the field where controlled live fires are used for students to practice learned techniques under close supervision.  If live fires are not permitted in your community then the Pyrosoft® Fire Simulator is set-up indoors where students practice in a computer simulation environment.

Fire Extinguisher Training Course Overviews

Pyrosoft® Fire Simulator Training

Prerequisites None
Duration:  Half Day/Full Day

The objectives of this course are to familiarize user on first aid hand portable fire fighting techniques and to recognize different fire hazards associated with their workplace.

The following topics are discussed with active class participation:  Types of fire extinguishers, Classes of Fire, Different Types of Fire, Extinguishing Agents, PASS method for using a Fire Extinguisher.

All employees regardless of their position or function within the organization would benefit from this training program.

All participants who successfully complete this program will receive a “Certificate of Attendance”.  The employer will receive a “Record of Training” that they can keep on file.

Live Fire Training

Max # of Participants:  50/100
Prerequisites None
Duration:  Half Day/Full Day

Vehicle Fire Suppression System Training

Max # of Participants:  12
Prerequisites:  None
Duration:  Half Day (4 hours)

The objectives of this course are to familiarize user on responsabilities, operation, inspection, maintenance and recharge of the vehicle fire suppression system.

The following topics* are discussed with active class participation:  Components, responsibilities, operation, daily / shift inspection, maintenance and recharge of the vehicle fire suppression system.

Who Should Attend:  All persons using , or responsible for operating a vehicle with fire suppression systems.

All participants who successfully complete this program will recieve a "Letter of Attendance".  The employer will recieve a "Record of Training" that they can keep on file.

* This course can be extended to a full day with the inclusion of these additional topics:  Applications, inspection / recharge and design installation.
